GAD eG
Slide Presentation
The technical steps for migration of a large-scale banking application towards a new and open application architecture are discussed. Business needs and technical requirements demand a new flexibility in application design. Flexible solutions can be better built on solid ground in which the importance of a solid architectural foundation like CORBA is emphasized. The development of the CORBA/BCI-bridge includes several middleware design and implementation recipes which may inspire other software architects in comparable projects.

UBS AG
A leading global financial services firm, UBS is the world's largest global asset manager, a top-tier provider of   investment banking and securities distribution, and a leading provider of private banking services. Possibly one of the world's largest operational CORBA installations worldwide with 400 UNIX servers and 40,000 PCs, UBS has implemented in a joint effort with AdNovum, the Interoperability Service Infrastructure (ISI), which is a CORBA 2.3 compliant ORB solution.

Raytheon Company
When Raytheon needed to update its complex Real-time distributed Command, Control, Computer, Communications and Intelligence (C4I) systems in the Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) applications domain, the company adopted Object-Oriented (O-O) concepts and principles, the C++ programming language and CORBA. These technologies played central roles in the architecture and implementation of the next generation system.

The Weather Channel
The Weather Channel (TWC) used CORBA and Linux to develop a system that provides reliability, doesn't require a high level of operational support and offers the ability to have detailed data logging.  They  were able to meet these needs and slash their software development time from months to weeks.
CALVOTER II
As state government grew in response to population growth and added new dimensions and responsibilities, so did the office of the Secretary of State. Having gained responsibility for overseeing elections and chartering corporations, to name but a few added duties over the years, the office has increasingly become the focus of much attention. The California Secretary of State's Office implemented a CORBAź-based voter registration and election night reporting system in response to its responsibility over elections.

Thames Water

Thames Water is one of the world's largest water and wastewater companies, serving 12 million customers in London and across the Thames Valley. World-wide the company serves over 21 million people. They created a component based system using CORBAź that would  allow the over 1000 system users to communicate from the field and office. This system allows its remote users access to data that is necessary to complete the tasks at hand in the field.
